Changing of GMT time zones?

Having the same time zone as China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Manila put you very much in sync. I hate to travel to Jakarta and Bangkok and having to adjust your watches. Sometimes you would call their offices and forgot they are not in office hours. India is worse. You have 30 minutes to add or subtract.
