I can't remember the name of a movie?

I remember the movie was about a teenage boy starting school mid year in a private catholic school. he makes friends with the outcasts. there is an abusive teacher that eventually gets fired, and banned from working with kids, after he beats one of the main character's friends. I believe it was because they beheaded a statue that they were being forced to clean over and over.
